Chennai GMs: Nihal upsets Arjun, Keymer leads

8/11/2025 – Vincent Keymer kept the sole lead in the main section of the Chennai Grand Masters after drawing with Anish Giri, while Nihal Sarin scored his first win by defeating top seed Arjun Erigaisi. Karthikeyan Murali also won, against Jorden van Foreest. Keymer leads on 3½ points, a full point ahead of Arjun. From Prodigy to Grandmaster

This milestone comes 51 years after the formation of the Malaysian Chess Federation in 1974.
